How do I book my wedding in one of your venues?
After you have selected one of our venues, wedding date and time of ceremony, one of our reservation agents will email you a proposal/contract. Due to our high interest in our properties, dates and venues are not officially held or confirmed until a 20% non-refundable deposit and singed contract is received. Once the signed contract and deposit is received, you will receive a confirmation 24-48 hours officially confirming your booking.
What happens after I’ve booked my venue?
After we’ve received your signed contract and 20% non-refundable deposit, one of our on-site ceremony specialists will contact you via email to start the exciting process.
What is a on-site ceremony specialist and what do they do?
Our on-site ceremony specialists go beyond the role of planning to help envision and implement your dream day. They will help guide you during your planning process, making recommendations and scheduling your vendors for your ceremony and/or reception depending on your needs. Your on-site ceremony specialist will also help create the special touches and unforgettable details that will turn your dream wedding into a reality.
Will my on-site ceremony specialist be there on the day of our wedding?
If you book one of our ala carte chapel packages, a chapel staff member will be on site to provide access to the property during your ceremony and rehearsal. Our on-site ceremony specialists are available to customize your day with on-site coordination.
Can my on-site ceremony specialist plan my reception, as well?
We offer a variety of options to meet your personal needs and preferences. This may include the ceremony, reception, or a full day service.
If I purchase a package can I modify or remove services and lower the price?
No. If you choose to waive a service included in one of our packages, the price remains the same. To offer our customers convenience, customization, and value, we offer a la carte options that you may add on specific services instead of selecting a package.
Do we get a rehearsal before our wedding day?
If you have chosen one of our chapels, you will have a 60 minute reserved time for a rehearsal (to be scheduled 1-2 months before your wedding.). Beach ceremonies do NOT include a rehearsal.
Do you do civil union ceremonies?
Of course! We do offer planning and venue options for civil union ceremonies.
What about vow renewals?
Can I use my own vendors? Is there any additional fee to do so?
Yes, you may use your own vendors for your ceremony, with exclusion of the organist, which must be contracted through The Best Hawaii Wedding due to liability issues. We do ask that you provide your on-site ceremony specialist with all vendors contact information so she may inform them of our rules, regulations, and time schedule.
Are there any other fees involved in the booking process?
Besides the 50% non-refundable deposit, there are no other upfront fees due. All final payments are due 30 days before your wedding date. If you have chosen one of our chapels for your ceremony, a $500 Damage Deposit is also required 30 days before your wedding date (payable ONLY by check). This $500 Damage Deposit is fully refundable within 30 days after your wedding date as long as there is no damage to our property caused by you, your guests, or your own contracted vendors.
How do we get our marriage license?
The State of Hawaii Licensing Bureau, located at 1250 Punchbowl Street, can be reached at (808) 586-4544 or http://health.hawaii.gov/vitalrecords/marriage-licenses/. Both parties must appear personally to pick up. The marriage license is good for 30 days from and including the date or its issuance. There are no residency or citizenship requirements. The legal age to marry in Hawaii is 18 years. Proof of age is required in the form of ID or driver’s license. The current fee is USD $60.00 and must be paid in cash.
Do we need to do a blood test before getting married?
No. Blood testing is not required in the state of Hawaii.
Do you give discounts on your venues?
Yes. We offer a 10% Kama’aina discount OR a 10% Military discount. Proof of residency or military I.D. is required for the discount. These offers may not be combined. The discount will be applied ONLY to the cost of the venue, not the total balance.
